The new styles were developed by skilled musicians who studied with famous gurus like Chambal Vaidyanath Bhagavatar, DR M. Balamurali Krishna, DR M.S.Subbalakshmi, Smt M.L.Vasantkumai to name a few, who were famous Carnatic singers. Many new ragas or rhythms were also discovered, which gave a wonderful touch to the Carnatic tune. Today these ragas are a part of popular Carnatic music dances and are a rage among the new generation.

Most Carnatic Raga’s in the present day are influenced by the South Indian Carnatic Ragas. These ragas are fast and dynamic, which have a great resemblance to the traditional South Indian Carnatic Raga. However they have their own distinct style and sound. The ragas used in Indian weddings today are a blend of old ragas used in the Carnatic weddings and new modern styles. There has been a tremendous evolution of the modern Indian Wedding Raga from its ancient roots and with time it has been getting more creative and jazzing up.

Carnatic Music Vs Hindustani Music: This is a big question. They do have a number of similarities but there are differences as well. Carnatic music goes back to the basics of music and is more melodic, while the Hindustani classical music is more dynamic and has a clear theme. Both are made of numerous notes which can be tuned separately as per need and desire. The Carnatic tune goes with the rhythm and is very melodic. In contrast with the Hindustani classical music, the Carnatic melody is more of a single note.

The Carnatic Raga is composed of two parts: the raga sung by the males and the background music which accompany it.  Carnatic songs have gained popularity because of its simplistic, light tune, and beautiful melody and creativity which appeals to all.

Carnatic Music vs Hindustani Music: Carnatic Raga is much simpler than the other type of raga. It is a simpler form of art and music as compared to the other. It has a wonderful simplicity and appeal which is why it has been a favorite amongst both Carnatic and Hindustani musicians. It is different from the rest as it is purely melodic and has a beautiful instrumental background.
