To make wheat upma recipe, simply wash and rinse the dry broken wheat very well. After cleaning the wheat well, par-boil the dried wheat in two cups of hot water. Then, drain and keep aside. Heat the cooking oil in a pressure cooker, add the mustard seeds and mix it with the dry ingredients.
In a small bowl, add some sugar and salt, stir and cook till the sugar dissolves in the mixture. When the mixture is done, transfer it to the steamer where you add one cup broken wheat area at a time. Boil for five minutes, let it boil for another five minutes, then switch off and cover the cooker. you may add boiled vegetables and a little grated coconut and masala to make it more tasty.
