Adi Shankaracharya, was believed to be known as Lord Siva himself is truly seated at the top of the spiritual ladder of the Hindu religion. His unparalleled status in the tradition of Advaita Vedanta makes him the unchallenged authority on matters relating to the sacred science of life. A devotee of Lord Vishnu and Shiva since childhood, he had formulated the Vaishnava and Advaita philosophy that governs our spiritual and material lives. He has been described by the commentators of Sanskrit literature as the one who has composed the Geet Govindam, the Tattva mantra, which is considering the ultimate hymns of worship.
Siva is symbolically also known as Lord Brahma, who is omnipresent and almighty. Adi Shankaracharya considers himself to be the realization of Brahma shiva and is the father of advaita Vedanta. Adi Shankaracharya translates and written commentaries to the ancient scriptures of India in the Sanskrit and established Math and satsanga, which are the two most accepted forms of devotional communication in India today. The sutras and mantras of the Hindu past have been handed down to him by the sages and saints of the Hindu tradition. Siva’s pure philosophy is in complete harmony with the ancient teachings of the Hindu religion and tradition, and he is considered as the one who gave the ultimate birth to yoga.
The core concepts of Advaita Vedanta are based on the understanding that life has a purpose and we should follow that purpose eternally. Shankaraacharya’s advaita Veda is based on the Upanishad teaching a long tradition of yogic study that sees nature as a source of all existence. According to this concept earth are nothing but a massive ball of energy that exist in the Centre of the earth and while suiting the universe, our human body can only adapt so much.
Adi Shankaracharya’s advaita is also based on his deep understanding of the theory of karma and reincarnation. According to this theory a person once born, remains in the earth until he/she attains Mukti, at that time he/she will undergo a serious karmic action . After attaining maturity and becoming a fully fledged human being, that person will be subjected to a different karmic act or a series of such acts which will see him/her suffer and experience all sorts of misery until he/she is liberated from that suffering. In other words, the entire process is like a chain reaction. According to this concept, all the sufferings and the pains experienced till the time of one’s existence are all due to the previous karmic actions performed by the human being.
However, Adi Shankaracharya’s philosophy is not accepted by few other philosophers. They consider not to be a mere philosophy without any scientific validity. This is because the concepts and thoughts reflected in the aphorism have no bearing on the physical reality. Even the critics of Shankaraacharya’s philosophy admit the fact that nyota has scientific validity when they mention the influence of astronomy on yoga.
