Students Should Not Be Allowed to Play Games That Advertise Smoking, Drink Driving, and Criminal Activities

Due to an emerging addiction to free online games, students across the world are being conditioned into playing what is known as the ‘PUBG’ or ‘pop up game’. This is a multiplayer online game where multiple users can connect to play a single game, for example, Mafia Wars. However, what is not commonly known is that this type of game can be extremely addictive and also very harmful to the mental and physical health of its users. Students should not be allowed to play PUBG as they may cause them to spend too much time hooked on to it, which in turn could eventually lead to other more serious consequences.

The addictive nature of these games is evident from the fact that most of them have an infinite number of levels, which means that players can advance to higher levels by acquiring more skills and upgrades within the game. However, what is also apparent is that this also creates a dependence on the game as players constantly try to advance to new levels, which could lead to the need to play the same levels again in order to gain access to higher rewards. As a result, the game becomes a source of relaxation and a good distraction from daily stresses, but at the same time it is causing the person playing it to become increasingly reliant upon its artificial intelligence and the way it keeps on advancing.

This addiction has the potential to take over a student’s life. They could easily become highly distracted, and in the midst of studying for tests or examinations, they would spend most of their time chatting with friends, playing video games or chatting on social media sites such as Facebook, MySpace or Skype. This could result in sleep disturbances, as well as poor grades. In worst case scenarios, they could even commit suicide or other criminal activities due to the overwhelming pressure of their college life. Therefore, it is important for students to understand that although the entertainment aspect of PUBG can be fun and enjoyable, it is also highly addictive and poses a great danger if not properly supervised.

What’s more, PUBG games are oftentimes played in the late hours of the day, when many college students are already tired and will usually have a few drinks before going to bed. In doing so, they expose themselves to harmful chemicals such as alcohol and caffeine, which can greatly affect their health. It is therefore imperative that students are aware of the potential dangers of being addicted to games such as this. What’s more, they need to be aware of the legal implications as well. For example, a student could get into serious trouble for violating the law if he or she plays these games while underage.

To prevent this problem, college campuses have introduced strict regulations to combat this growing addiction problem. One such regulation requires students to only play these games for limited periods of time. Furthermore, the amount of time that a player can play the game before it must be disabled is also set. In other words, a player who plays five games in one day is required to stop playing after a certain number of hours.

Although this requirement may prevent players from playing games for long periods of time, it does little to curb the addiction itself. As a result, countless college students play illegally, spend countless dollars on drinks, cigarettes, and snacks, and fall into legal trouble. Although there is no law against playing these games, those who do so could face severe consequences. In other words, by playing these games illegally or excessively, students could be charged with criminal offenses that could result in fines, probation, or even jail time.

Aside from these risks, excessive gaming may also pose a significant risk to the academic success of a student. Inexperienced gamers tend to notice lopsided scores more quickly, which can affect their performance in class. Gamers who do not pay enough attention to statistics also find it harder to learn the skills they need to succeed in life. In order to avoid these problems, students should invest in learning statistics and related study skills before playing games. However, since many students simply log onto the Internet whenever they feel like playing, it is not always possible to track game play history accurately.

When it comes to illegal games, there are a few types that should be avoided. For example, games that require students to shoot weapons violate several laws. At the same time, violent games may cause increased aggression or violence toward others. Online games that incorporate the use of weapons are illegal in schools, and students should never give any money or access to anyone else’s computer to play these games. Students should avoid downloading games onto a personal computer that they will not be able to return or that have viruses on them. Finally, students should never visit websites with adult content, and they should never give out credit card numbers over the Internet without a trusted third-party.
