When we talk about boiling, we refer to the method of heating food by boiling it at a certain temperature in order to destroy any enzymes present in it and also to boil away some of the nutrients present in it. Boiling originated from early days when people used fire to cook food but it was later on adopted by means of a kind of pot that was called a wok (or counselor pot in the East Asian countries) that is made of cast-iron or other metal and has a handle on one side so that the food could be placed in it. In these types of pans the bottom of the pan is usually colored or marked so as to indicate where to place a dish of food.
There are two different kinds of cooking that we use nowadays and these are frying and baking. Frying is the quick burning of foods in a hot surface such as a frying pan whereas baking is the roasting of bread in an oven. Boiling and frying are related to each other but they are actually done in very different ways. The difference between the two is that frying depends mostly on the heat and the convection of the pan while baking depends largely on both the heat and the natural convection of the air. You can see that both of them require a good amount of moisture so that they do not burn. In addition to this, when we talk of baking, we mean the baking of bread in a hot oven.
There are four different kinds of boiling mentioned in the dictionary and these are the sulfide boiling, the carbon-combustion boiling, the primary boiling and the secondary boiling. The first one is known as the sulfide boiling because in this kind of boiling the fuel is sulfur, which is burned in the anode to give out steam and in the cotter there is a reaction that gives out carbon dioxide. The second kind of boiling is known as the carbon-combustion boiling since in this kind of boiling the fuel is combustible matter like coal or wood. The third kind of boiling is called the primary boiling since it is where all the energy in the burning of fuel comes from and this is what gives out heat. The last kind of boiling is called the secondary boiling and it is where the heat transfer takes place from the hot surface to the air. In short, the process of heating is called boiling and this process of heating is essential to our existence.
