Bhajan is a form of singing in group with instruments relating to leads and percussion instruments. The lyrics mainly praise the Indian Gods like Rama, Krishna, Shiva, Narayan and many more. The group head would lead the lyrics and the other members would follow him. The team is usually accompanied by Harmonium and for the beats the Indian Instrument called Tabla.

The original “Bhajan” lyric was written in Hindi by poet Ashok Patki. It translates literally to “blessed song”. Some of the most notable musicians who had a profound impact on the creation of “Bhajan” were from Tamil Nadu and Karnataka Maharashtra and Kerala. Today this musical genre continues to inspire artists from around the world and is widely popular.
