Theistic believers are at odds over whether God’s concept of goodness is equivalent to the atheistic attitude of humans. Some believe that God’s concept of goodness is equivalent to an atheistic fact that human beings can be as morally wrong as they can be and God doesn’t care. They further believe that God’s concept of goodness is compatible with a belief in the existence of God because God has omnipotence and omnipresence and the ability to know all things that have been, will be, and even what might be. They further believe that God’s concept of goodness is compatible with a theistic fact that humans are the product of random chance.
According to traditional theistic believers God is pure goodness. They believe that God is wholly God and not the product of evil. They further claim that God is omniscient since nothing that has been, will be, or could be is beyond God’s knowledge. They further claim that God is omnipotent because He has the power to control all that has been, will be, or can be and that nothing will come from nothing.
A theistic believer however, claims that there is no such thing as absolute goodness. God’s goodness is not something that can be taken on to be something it is not. God does not exist by virtue of any fact that could be proven by scientific observation. God does not exist by virtue of any fact that could be proved by scientific investigation into God’s existence.
God does exist by virtue of a fact that all creatures share, which is His existence. God is indeed omnipotent and omnipresent and God exists by virtue of this fact. God is not defined by God concept alone but also by His experience in being God. We may say that God is personal in the sense that we have a personal relationship to God, and that God experiences good and evil in that personal relationship. God experiences goodness and bad in the fact that He is omnipresent and God existence is not limited by any fact that could be proved by science.
God concept may also be seen as a fact that could be proven by science. God exists by the fact that science is unable to disprove His existence. God is omnipresent, because God is part of the universe and that the entire universe is not something that can be proved or disproved. God exists because everything that can be described by science already exists with God as the creator of the universe including the conditions that are necessary for the existence of man. God experiences goodness and bad as a result of man’s disobedience and sin, and because of man’s rebellion against God.
God concept also has another interesting implication: evil does not exist! This could seem to contradict the fact that God concept defines goodness and does exist. God is omnipotent and omnipresent, and He does not experience good or bad by the fact that man exists and that evil does not exist. Therefore, evil could not have ever existed.
However, the fact that God does experience good and bad by the fact that the entire universe is in His hands does support the idea of God being just and compassionate. This could be because God is not part of the universe and is therefore beyond the reach of all things that could destroy it. God could not be seen as having a bad intention or as having an evil mind since God cannot be demonstrated to have had an evil mind or intention.
It could therefore be seen that the God concept could actually be described as existing by the fact that it is not part of reality. God exists by the fact that nothing in the universe exists which could be proved or disproved by science. God exists by the fact that He is omnipotent and omniscient. God does not experience good and bad by the fact that man exists and that God exists. God does not experience good and bad by the fact that people exist and that God exists. God experiences good and bad by the fact that God exists.
