It is a common tradition among Hindus to pay respects to Gods after raising in the morning from the bed. Before beginning the day Hindus offer their prayers immediately in the morning to goddess Lakshmi, Saraswathi, Gowri and to their favorite God.

Lakshmi is the Goddess of wealth and prosperity. Saraswathi is  

The goddess of Wisdom and Knowledge. Gowri is the Goddess of     goodness, power nourishment devotion and harmony.

They chant the above shloka while gazing the palms after rubbing their palms.

“karagre vasathe lakshmi karamadhye tu saraswathi, kara mule sthithaa  Gowri prabhate karadarshanam”

Hindus believe that Goddess lakshmi dwells at the tip of the palm Goddess Saraswthi in the middle of the palm and Goddess Gowri at the bottom of the palm.

Hands are most important for everyone through which everyone executes all actions.   Hindus believe that to initiate a positive thought and determine to begin the day by doing good deeds, this small and active prayer is necessary. This wil boost the morale. This prayer will set the right attidute to the person to begin the   day in the right path.

“One should look at the palms soon after one wakes up Where Goddess Lakshmi dwells at the tip of the palm, Saraswathi in the central portion of the palm and Goddess Gowri at the beginning of the palm”
