POSITIVE ATTITUDE

Positive attitude is a term first introduced in 1937 by Napoleon Hill. In his book, Hill discusses the role of positive thinking in achieving success. He said, “A man’s capacity to create and achieve will largely depend upon his capacity to cultivate a positive and optimistic attitude…A positive attitude is frequently the primary instrument with which we succeed more often than anything else.” So, what is a positive attitude? It is a state of mind that will create happiness and a positive contribution to the productivity of a person or an organization.

A negative attitude is one where a person feels depressed or is preoccupied with various negative thoughts. A negative approach to life will affect productivity negatively. Therefore, a positive attitude will help create productivity and will result to productivity. A productive individual will be able to make better use of his time and will be able to accomplish the tasks at hand.

The state of positive attitude will not only create happiness, it will also contribute positively towards productivity. But, a person must have a positive attitude to be able to have a positive attitude. So, how does one cultivate a positive attitude? First, you have to change your thought pattern from negative to positive thoughts. Think of positive things, see the good in everything and everyone around you.

Second, a person needs to understand the importance of positive attitude and he should tell himself all the time that he will have a pleasant day and everything will turn out okay. For this purpose, you should think of your family, friends, colleagues, spouse and children. Each time you tell yourself these things, you are helping yourself to cultivate a positive attitude, as you will keep telling yourself that each day will be a good day. And you will be doing this every day, while you are doing all the necessary activities required for the fulfillment of your goals in life.

Third, cultivate optimism by being optimistic about everything. When you are pessimistic about something, you will have a negative attitude. And when you are overly optimistic, you will have a positive attitude. Thus, if you are having problems with finding the right employees, try to be optimistic and you will get the best employees for your company.

Fourth, develop your confidence and motivation. When you have a positive attitude, you will feel more confident and you will also have the motivation to carry out tasks. Therefore, if you are unsure about a certain task, you will have the confidence to complete it. And you will not procrastinate or put it off. On the other hand, when you do not have confidence in yourself and you have negative thinking, you will not have the motivation to carry out a task, even if you think that you can.

Fifth, don’t let your negative thoughts drag you down. Your positive attitude is important because it will give you the power to push through even those tough times. And you will also be motivated to do your best because you will be focused on what you want rather than what you don’t want.

A positive attitude is important because it helps you concentrate on the positive things that will come your way, rather than focusing on the negative things. It will help you increase your productivity and keep you motivated. And it will also enable you to see the opportunities in front of you instead of being distracted by them. And once you start having a positive attitude, you will definitely see a different world beyond the negative standpoint.
