Selling tobacco is wrong and must be stopped. But who can stop us? Where will we put the smokers? How will society feel when there are a lot of them and smoking leads to cancer? What effect on the health of children does smoking have?
A creative writing assignment may ask you to consider these questions as part of your argumentative essay topics. The essay should be written about one of the following issues: Health, Environmental, Societal or Economical aspects of the Community, and/or a Personal Experience. This will give you ample opportunity to research the topic and gain the relevant information to write your argument. It will also make you think, and it is an important part of writing argumentative essay topics.
Let us look at the health aspect first. Where is the evidence that smoking is unhealthy for adults? Does the World Health Organization say that smoking is one of the leading causes of death in the Western World? And what about the effects on children?
Environmental issues are a bit more difficult to address in creative writing. There are so many environmental issues involved in our lives that it is hard to argue that smoking should even be included as a viable argument in your argumentative essay topic. But what about the costs to society? And what about the cost to personal health?
Another argument that is often made against the idea of banning smoking is the “zombie outbreak”. Zombie outbreaks happen when there is no living things left to kill off. According to this argument, if the number of people who smoke has reached a certain level, the entire population of humanity will turn up to die off one way or another because there will be nothing left to eat, drink or even think of. In short, the entire society will have to succumb to death and be forced into a Zombie outbreak, thus proving that smoking should not even be considered in your argumentative essay topic!
This argument is problematic on many levels. First, it is blatantly false, and I would advise you not to ever use it in any place where you might expect to be challenged for your facts or logic. Next, it is just a bad argument that falls under no specific law. Yes, it is wrong to ban something because it is banned in some other country, or because it has proven to be bad for some other group of people. However, it is not wrong to include such a ban because of the effect it will have on the individual smoker.
The argument for banning smoking in dissertation topics is usually based around how it kills people, damages society as a whole, and causes a lot of problems in the world. All of these arguments are correct in their own regard, and while none of them are particularly persuasive when taken individually, they do make sense when put together. As such, I urge all students to avoid arguing against the banning of smoking in dissertation topics because it does not hold up to scrutiny when properly examined.
There are many more reasons why I believe that the banning of smoking in the United States should not take place in any dissertation format, let alone an essay. When looking at the topic of secondhand smoke and its effects, there are several things to consider. For example, some health risks such as cancer and emphysema have been tied to secondhand smoking. Secondhand smoke is also known to cause asthma and allergies. Now, these are all very serious problems, and they should not be brushed aside. However, it is not proven that secondhand smoke is causing these problems directly, so this argument is not entirely accurate when trying to make a point about the dangers of secondhand smoke.
The same can be said for secondhand smoke and lung cancer. While the above is a little bit correct, it overlooks the fact that some of the worst problems associated with smoking come from long-term tobacco users who have damaged their lungs over time. This damage is what makes people get lung cancer in the first place, not smoking. Therefore, it would be difficult to make a point about the dangers of secondhand smoke when ignoring all the evidence about damage caused by smoking. That being said, there are some persuasive essay topics on the internet that deal with secondhand smoke and its effects.
These topics almost always address the damage done to children and teenagers by cigarette smoking, as well as the damage caused to adults. The reason for this is because it is almost every single disease that is known to man that can be traced back to cigarette smoking. That being said, it is almost every single disease that is known to man that can also be traced back to secondhand smoking. Therefore, while banning smoking seems like a good idea, it may be something that almost every other law that is made by a politician already does.
