Finally, another important subgroup of passive electronic components is those that are used to control the operation of electronic circuits, such as resistors or transistors. The most commonly used components in this category are potentiometers. Potentiometers are used to set the threshold levels of output transistors. Different forms of potentiometers, such as surface mount or contact voltage measurements can be used to achieve various levels of control.
